Saturday Weigh In and Breakfast

Happy Saturday!

I weighed myself this morning, with hopes to not have gained a pound this week since I haven’t been able to work out any due to an injury. Well color me surprised, I lost a pound this week! Yaaay! That puts me at 154 lbs. 🙂 Although I didn’t work out hardly at all, I did watch my eating closely so I’m sure that contributed to my weight loss.

This morning, I was tempted to eat some of my Dad’s birthday cake that I took home on Thursday. But I asked myself these questions:

Will it nourish my body? No.

Will it make me feel good? Yes, but only for about 30 seconds.

So, I made a choice to eat something that would nourish me and make me feel full for hours instead of giving into temptation!

Healthy breakfast

I had: 2 boiled eggs, 1/4 cup sliced strawberries, 1/2 avocado, 1 tsp chia seeds, 1 tbsp honey. Not only does it make a pretty plate, but it had tons of nutrients my body needed this morning to get me going, and it was all 342 calories. Probably about the same amount of calories for a small piece of cake.

Yay for small victories! 🙂
